What I did on my piece of paper is I added $8.95 8 times and got $71.50. I then added the tax and it changed to 73.57. Next I added the money she left the store with and got 79.85 dollars. So thats how much Sam spent.
First I will round $8.95 to $9.00. Next I will multiply 9.00 by 8. Then I will multiply .05 by 8 to subtract what I rounded. Then I will add the tax to my answer. Finally I will add the money Sam had left over to get my final answer.
