Zoe is putting a border around her blanket and she needs to know how much ribbon to buy. The lenth of the blanket is three times the width of the blanket. If the length of the blanket is 6 yards, what is the width of the blanket? What is the perimeter of the blanket? How much ribbon does she need to buy total for her border if she wants to put it on both sides of the blanket?
Solve and explain how you got your answer. You must solve for the width, perimeter, and total amount of ribbon needed.
You will have until Friday afternoon at 5pm to post your answer!

the perimeter is 16 yards. The width is 2 yards. She needs to buy 32 yards of ribbon.
I know...
It says that the length was 3 times the width
( 6 yards divided by 3 yards = 2 yards)=width
6 yards=length
Solve...
6 + 6 + 2 + 2 = 16 yards
I know that the length of the blanket is 6 yards. I took the number 2 and times it 3 times. That equals 6.
The width of the blanket is 2 yards.
To get the perimeter I took the length of the blanket which is 6 yards and times it by 2. That equals 12. I times 2 two times for the width which the answer was 4 and added to 12 which the answer was 16.
The perimeter is 16.
To see how much ribbon Zoe needed I just times the perimeter and times it by 2 and the answer was 32
Zoe needed 32 yards of ribbon.
My answer is 24 yards.
I started with the length being 6 yards. The length is 3 times the width, and 6 divided by 3 equals 2 so the width is 2 yards. 6 yards times 2 yards equals 12 yards. 12 yards equals one side of the blanket and 12 yards times 2 equals 24 so the perimeter of the blanket is 24 yards and Zoe also needs to buy 24 yards of ribbon.
The width for the blanket is 2 yards. You know because 6 divided by 3 is 2. The perimeter is 16, because to make the entire thing, you need 2 times the length and width. 6 x 2 += 12, and 2 x 2 = 4. Add them together and you get 16! She needs to put ribbon each side, and since you know how much for one side, just multiply it by 2, and you get the final answer of 32!!
The width is 2 yards, because 6 divided by 3 is 2. The perimeter is 16 yards, because you need 2 times the length and width. 6 x 2= 12, and 2 x 2= 4. Add them together and you get 16! You need to buy 32 total yards, because you already know how much for 1 side, and just multiply it by 2 to get 32!!!
So you do 6x3 and get 18 and then you do 6+6+18+18=48yds as the primenter. the length of ribbon she will neeed is 48+48=96yd.
The width of the blanket is 2 yards.
The perimeter of the blanket is 16 yards.
The ribbon needed for both sides of the blanket is 32 yards.
The width of the blanket is two yards. The perimeter of the blanket is 16 yards , and if she wants to put ribbon on both sides then she would have to buy 32 yards of ribbon. The lenght is 6 yards and the lenght is three times the width so you need divide 6 by 3. You get 2+2+6+6=16 as your perimeter and you just double the perimeter to get the number of yards for both sides.
First the width of Zoe’s blanket would be 2 yards because it says that length of the blanket is three times the width of the blanket and the length is 6 yards. I got 2 yards because 6 yards (length)÷ by three times equals 6 yards.
Next the perimeter of Zoe’s blanket would be 16 yards because 6 yards (length) + 2 Yards (width) is 8 yards ×2 (opposite sides) equals 16 yards.
Finally the amount of ribbon needed would be 32 yards because 16 yards (perimeter) ×2 (both sides) equals 32.
I found the width by dividing the length by three and got the width 2yds.
I found the perimeter by adding the four numbers together.I added 6+6+2+2=16yds as my answer.
The total amount of ribbon needed is the perimeter of the blanket and multiplied it by 2 , 32yds
Width-2yds
Perimeter-16yds
Total ribbon-32yds
the width is 2 and the perimeter is 32 because the length is 3 times the width the length is 6 and 3 times 2 is 6 so its 6 and 2 each is doubled because there are 4 sides of a blanket and thats 2 so then then add them together 12 and 4 is 16 there are 2 sides of the blanket so 16 plus 16 is 32.
Peremeter = 48
Width(both sides) = 36
Leangth = 6 yds
Answer = 36
I got this answer multiplying 6X3 to get 18 and mutilplying 18X2 to get 36 yds.
My answer is 96. What I did was multiply the legth (6) times 3 to get the width(18). Then Iused the perimeter formula(L plus W plus L plus W). Together that gave me 48. Because its for both sides, I multiplyed it times 2 for a total of 96.
The width is 18yards. Because the question says "he lenth of the blanket is THREE times width of the blanket" so we have to multiply by 6 yards=18 yards.
And perimeter is 48p. becuase now we know what is the width of the blanket so we have to add all of it
EX:6 yards+6 yards+18 yards+18 yards=48
And they need 96 ribbons because the question says they have to put in BOTH sides.
EX.48 ribbons on the first side + 48 ribbons on the second side = 96 ribbons of total.
6 divided by 3 equals 2, so the blanket is 2 yards wide. Next, the perimeter is 16 because 6+6+2+2=1. Finally,she needs to buy 32 yards of ribbon because 16x2=32
First I:
divided 6 by 2 to figure out the width.
Then I drew a box to figure out the perimeter of the square.
Answer:the perimeter is 16yards.
the with is 2 yards.
she needs to buy 12 ribbon.
6 (length) divided by 3 = 2 (width) The width of the blanket is 2 yards.
6+6+2+2=16 yards.
The perimeter is 16 yards.
16+16 = 32 yards.
Zoe needs to buy 32 yards of ribbon in total.
The width 2 yards, the perimeter is 16 yards. Zoe needs 32 ribbons.
What I know:
Blanket's length is 3 times the width of the blanket
Blanket length is 6 yards.
To find the width, I divided 6 by 3. Width = 2 yards. This helped me find the answer to:
Perimeter = add all the sides
Perimeter = 2 X 6 yards + 2 X 2 Yards
Perimeter = 12 + 4 yards +16
Zoe needs to buy 16 yards of ribbon for her blanket.
1. I drew a picture of the blanket
2.Then after I drew the blanket I firgured out what was the anwser to the question what is the width of the blanket. It was 2 yards.
This is how I solved it I did 6 yards divided by 3 yards it was 2.
3. The perimeter was 18 yards. This is how I solved it. I added 6yards twice because the 2 sides. And added 3 twice for the same reason. I got 18.
4. For the ribbon qustion I got 12 yards. This is how I added 6 + 6 for the 2 sides and I got 12 yards.
My revised answer is 32 yards of ribbon.
The perimeter is16 yards. The width is 2 yards. I did 16x2=32 yards for both times. Zoe will need 32 yards of ribbon.
The width of the blanket is 2 yards
The perimeter is 16.
She needs 32 yards.
The width of the blanket is 2 yrds.
The perimeter is 16 yrds.
For Zoe's border she needs 32 yrds of ribbon.
2 yards for the width, 16 yards for the perimeter, and 32 yards for the amount of ribbon Zoe needs to buy. I found the with, amount of ribbon, and perimeter by doing an operation and a picture.
I know...
It says the length of the blanket is 3 times
(6 divided by 3 =2)
6 = Length
Solve...
6 + 6 + 2 +2 = 16 yards
The perimeter is 16 cause the width is 6 and the width is 3 times less and 6 divided by 3 is 2 and 6+6+2+2 is 16.
She needs to buy 32 yards of ribbon cause she needs to but twice the amount of perimeter which is 32
The width of the blanket is 2 yards. The perimeter of the blanket is 16 yards. The ribbon she needs to get to border both sides is 32 yards.
The width of the blanket is 2 yards. The perimeter of the blanket is 16 yards.And she will need 12 yards of ribbon to fit the blanket.
The width is 2 yards.
The perimeter is 16 yards.
The amount of ribbon Zoe needs is 16.
To find the width I divided 6 by 3 and got 2 yards.
To find the perimeter I multiplied 6 by 2 and got 12 ,multiplied 2 by 2 and got 4,and i added 12 by 4 and got 16 yards.
I knew that Zoe needed 16 ribbons because it deppended on the perimeter of the blanket witch was 16 yards.
1. The width of the blanket is 2 feet.
2. The perimeter of the blanket is
16 feet.
3. She will need a total of 32 feet to do both sides.
the perimeter of the blanket is 16 because l+w+l+w=p
I think the answer is 2 yards because 6 divided by 3 is 2 yards.
the perimeter of the blanket is 24 yards. I multiplied 6 by 4. And the total boarder of ribbon is 48 yards i multiplied 24 by 2
The width of the blanket is 2 yards because if the length is 6 yards you divide that by 3 and get 2. The perimeter and total amount of ribbon needed is 16 yards .
my answer is 54 because you do 6x 3x x3 gives your answer and Zoe needs 54 inches for the blanket.
she needs to 24 feet of ripion becace 6+6=12x2=24 6+6 becase 2times the luingth of the blankit that =12 12x2 12 feet for bouth sids

I think it is 2 yards, 16 yards, and 32 yards.
I got a piece of paper to see the width on the blanket. Then got another piece of paper. I wrote all of the important information on it. 6x4=24. would be the peremeter because there were 4 sides. There were 8 sides front and back. So to find the width I would do 8x6=48. So, 48 yards of ribbon would be needed total. The peremeter would be 24.
The length of the blanket is 6 yards and the width is 2 yards (6 divided by 3 = 2.).
So the width is 2 yards.
The perimeter of the blanket is 16 yards (6+6+2+2=16.).
So the perimeter is 16 yards.
The total amount of ribbon is 32 yards(2x perimeter = 16+16=32.)
So the amount of ribbon needed is 32 yards.
By dividing 6yards by 3yards, the width of Zoe's blanket is 2yards.
The perimeter of Zoe's blanket is 16yards.I found the answer by the equation below:
6+6+2+2=16-perimeter of first side
16 x 2-sides=32 yards of ribbon!
width=18 yards
perimeter=23 yards
perimeter on both sides=46 yards
width=2 yards
perimeter=16 yards
perimeter on both sides=32 yards
The width of the blanket is 18 yards, the perimeter is 58 yards, and 116 ribbon she needs. I got this by thinking using a peice of paper and solve it I did 6x3 and the width is 18 yards and i did addition for the perimeter one. I used the awnser x2 and got 116.
