First, I found the area by multiplyng 15x14 which equals 210 square feet.
Second, I found the area of the 2 closets and subtracted them from 210 which gave me 176square feet.
Finally, I multiplyed 176 x $.60 and got a product of $105.60, which was the total cost of the tiles.
It will cost $13.86 to cover the whole floor without the closets.
21 ft + 21 ft =42 ft -4 ft -4 ft = 34 -3 - 6 = 25
My answer is $48.00!
The first thing I did to figure out the problem was write down all the important information that the problem gave me. Second I found the area of the whole room. (Including the closets.) The area was 120 square feet. Then I found the square feet of each closet and added it together. I got 40 square feet for both closets put together. Next, I subtracted the 40 square feet from the total 120 square feet and got 80 square feet. Last, I did 80 square feet times the 60 cents per tile and I got $48.00 paid for the total amount of all tiles.
So you would do 12ft+3ft=15ft then you will do 10ft+4ft=14ft then you do get the square feet of the total area so then you multiply 15x14 to get 210sq.ft.in the whole area.Then you find the area in the closet 4ftx4ft=16sq.ft then you do 6ftx3ft=18sq.ft then you add both closets togeather and you get 34sq.ft in the closets now you have th subtract the square ft of the colsets from the square ft of the room and you get 176 sq.ft as you answer.Now you have to do sq feet x cost 176x60cents=$105.60cence anyou answer....
I solved this problem by: 14 x 15 = 210 – 16 = 194 – 18 = 176 x .6 = $105.60. My answer was $105.60 to tile the house. I used operations to help me solve this problem. First I multiplied fourteen times fifteen and got two hundred ten. Then I subtracted sixteen and eighteen and got one hundred seventy-six. Last but not least I multiplied 176 times six tenths and got $105.60.
the total perimeter of the room is 36 feet.
1. first I drew a picture of the girl's room.
2. I founded out wat the area was without the closets was 210ft with it the area was 176ft.
3. I did 194 times 60 cents and i got $116.40.
My answer was 116.40
First, I figured out how many square feet the whole room is. 10 feet plus 4 feet for the closet is 14 feet for 1 side, and 12 feet for the other side. I multiplied them together to get 168 sq. feet. Then, I multiplied to find the area of the closets. One closet is 4 ft. wide by 4 ft. long. I get an area of 16 sq. feet for that closet. For the other closet, it is 6 feet long by 3 feet wide, for an area of 18 ft. That gives me a total of 34 sq. feet of closet. Now subtract that from 168 sq. feet, and you have a total of 134 sq. feet that need to be tiled. Divide that by 1 sq. foot per tile and that equals 134 tiles. At this point I realized that there would be no tiles left over if all of the tiles fit in perfectly. 134 tiles times $0.60 each is a grand total of $80.40, not including tax. Including tax, it is $87.03.
I found the area of the room without the closets, which is 176 feet squared. I multiplied that area with 60 cents and got $105.60.
This is how I got the answer:
10ft+4ft=14ft which is the bottom
12ft+3ft=15ft which is the side
I multiplied 15ft times 14ft and got 210 square ft. I subtracted 34ft(closet area) and got 176ft. I multiplied that by $0.60 and got $105.60. The answer is $105.60.
The answer is fourty four square feet because when you multiply 12 by 2 you get 24 then you multiply 2 times 10 to get twenty then you add 20 and 24 to get 44 your answer
My answer is $105.60. How I got it, I
* found the area of the closets,3 multiplied by 6 =18 +4 multiplied by 4 = 16= 34
*I then multiplied the area of the closets by the price of each tile,( because I used the size of tile to determine the area.)
* After that I found the area of the room discluding the area of the closets.
* That area was multiplied by 60cents, the cost of each tile, that is how I found my answer.
Part 2 REAL ANSWER $1,056
I multiplied $176 with .60 and got $1,056.oo.
Answer is $105.60 because
14ft-width of the room
X 15ft-length of the room
--------
210ft- of the whole room
- 34ft- of the all closet
--------
176ft- of the the real whole room
X$.60- 1 foot square and costs $0.60
-------
$105.60 - the REAL answer.
I got $105.60.
First, I added 4 ft and 10 ft, and 12 ft and 3 ft then multiplied the sums.
(4+10)×(12+3)=210.
Next, I multiplied 4 ft ×4 ft and 3 ft ×6 ft and then added the products.
4×4+3×6=34.
Then, I subtracted 34 tiles not needed from 210 tiles.
210-34=176 tiles.
Finally, I multiplied 176 tiles times $0.60 each tile and got $105.60.
I multiplied 4 tiles by 4 tiles to get 16 tiles, and then I multiplied 6 tiles by 3 tiles and got 18 tiles. Then I multiplied 12tiles by 10 tiles to get 120 tiles. Then I added 16 tiles and 18tiles to get 34 tiles. Then I subtracted 34 tiles from 120 tiles and got 86 tiles. So then I multipied 86 tiles by $0.60 and got $51.60
Add the figure out the area and that is 210ft and then minus the closets area which is 34ft and get 176 ft and she has to spend 105.60 onn the tiles.
First, I found the area of the floor, not including the floor in the closet. I seperated the floorspace into three rectangles and found the area of each one. Then I added 72+ 60+44 and got 176 square feet. Then I multiplied 176 times $ .60. I got $105.60. I used graph paper which made easier.
Total area of space = 210 sq ft.
(15x14)
closet 1
4ftx4ft=16sq.ft.
closet 2
3ft.x6ft.=18sq.ft.
closets 16 + 18 = 34 sq.ft.
210 - 34 = 176 sq.ft.
176ft. x $.60 = $105.60 -------
First I will multiply the lengths (without the closets) to get my answer. Next I will subract out the closet spaces. Finally I will multiply the cost of each tile x the amount of tiles.
14 3 210 4 192
x15 x6 -18 x4 -16
70 18 192 16 176 sq ft.
140
210 210.00
x$0.60
$126.000 is how much the tiles will cost.
660
660
$ 600
11 720
x60 2640 dollars
660 12
x60
$720
I got $105.60, because first you find out how much is really in that space, including closets. You get 15 and 14, and multiply the to together to get 210. Then find out how much space is in the closets by doing 18 + 16= 34. Then take 34 from 210, and get 176. do 160 tiles times $0.60 and get $105.60!!
$51.60 if no tiles are left over.
14ft.x15ft.=210square feet
total closet space =34square feet
210-34=176 square feet
176sq.ft.x.60/ft = $105.06
10 is the width
10x10=100
closets
4x4=16
100-16=84
6x3=18
84-18=66
66 is the number of tiles
OK see 12 then 10 then 34
x2 +8 +18
-- -- ---
24 18 40
So you take 12 + 10 + 6 + 4 + 4 +3 FEET = 39 square feet
I THINK THE ANSWER IS 39 SQUARE FEET
6 squares will cross and it will cost $35.40
I found the total area of the room then found the toatal area for both closets then subtracted the 2 numbers getting 176 ft squared then multiplied the number by .60 cents and got $105.60 cents as my final answer.
Ms Centanni I don't get this question but this is what I did. First I multiplyed 12x10 and got 120. Then I subtracted 8 (area aroud closet) and got
112.Lastly I add 3 extra tiles and get 115. Finaly I multiply 115 by 0.60 and get $69.00.
1.15X14 (210)
2.subtract the closet area.
3.210-(16+18)=176.
4.176X$.60=$105.6
A:It will cost her $105.60
It will cost $13.86 to cover the whole floor.
step 1 210 15X14
step 2 subtract the closet area
step 3 210-(16+18)=176
step 4 176X$.60=$105.6
answer:It will cost $105.60
