The answer is 541 because it is a three digit number, the sum of the last two digits = the first digit, (541 4+1=5) The first and third digit are odd, ( 5,1 prime numbers) The first digit is one more than the second digit, ( 5-4=1) & the sum of all the digits =10(5+4+1=10).

The three digit number is 541. I figured that out by working backwards. Starting with 10, I knew the number wasnt going to be 523 because the clue after the last one says thatthe first digit is 1 more than the second. I came up with my answer after looking at the last 2 clues, then went back and checked to see if my answer worked with the other clues.

_ _ _ The answer is 541 because it is 3 digits, the last 2 digits equal the first digit, the first and third digits are odd, the first digit is 1 more than the second, and the sum of the digits are 10.

I put three spaces to represent the 3 digits in the number on a paper. I check off rule #1. Then I followed rule #3 but putting all odd numbers in the 1st and 3rd digit space. After I checked off rule #3. Then I followed rule #5, and was able to cross out numbers that would not work. Checked off rule #5. Next I followed rule #2 and crossed off the numbers that did not work which left me with two possibilities. Lastly, I crossed off rule #2 and followed rule #4. Out of the two, only one worked according to the rule. It was 541.

So, my final answer is 541.

The mystery number is 541. I followed all the steps and this is how I did it... I knew that the 1st and 3rd had to be odd. And that the last two numbers had to equal the first number. So 4+1=5 and 5+4+1=10 so 541 is the answer.

The mystery number is 541. I got it by first putting 3 lines for 3 digits. Next, since the last 2 digits add up to the 1st digit, I put the possible numbers for the 1st digit ( 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 ) and the possible for the other 2 digits ( 2nd: 1,2,3,4,5 ) ( 3rd: 1,2,3,4, because 5 plus 4 equals 9). Then, the first and last digit are odd so I cross out the even numbers. ( 1st: 3,5,7,9) ( 3rd: 1,3 ) . Now, it says that the 1st digit is 1 more than the second digit. Now the digits left are: ( 1st: 3,5 ) ( 2nd: 2,4 ). Now since the digits add up to 10, 5 plus 4 plus 1 equals 10. If you put them together it equals 541. : )

My number is 541. The way I got
that answer is by reading all of
the clues first. Then I reread the
last clue and then the second clue.
Then I read them from the last to
the first clue three times. then I
got my answer.

The mystery number is 541 because five is an odd # and 4+ 1=5, one is also odd and all the numbers= 10.

Ashleigh Duke said...

Since the sum of all digits is 10, the first number, which is odd, has to be less than 9 and 7 to make the other rules work. 3 and 1 are too low for the numbers to follow the rules and add to 10. Only 5 is left, second place is even and one less than the first digit (4) and the last digit is odd and has to equal the first digit when added to the second digit. Therefore, the number is 541 which works will all the rules.

my answer was 541 so first we did guess and check i thought of 2 odd # and 1 even number so it fit 1 of the descriptions and ithoght 4+5=9 so i only need 1 that equals 10 in all 2 odd #s 1 even # it was a 3 digit # the first ddigit was 1 more than th 2nd and in all equals 10

First I made three blanks _ _ _
The rest I did guess and check
If I guess the first digit is five 5 _ _
Then I know that the second number must be four because that is one less than five
5 4?
Then I put one is my last digit because four plus one is five with is my first digit 541
I also know if you add up all the digits they all equal 10

the mystery number is 541.

First I made three lines.Next I put under the first and third digit odd and under the second even. Then I guessed and checked and made sure they all added up to 10.I did 5+4+1=10 then i put them in order and made sure the first and third were odd,the second was even, and then second was one less than the first.

the answer is 541 becausethe sum of all the digits are 10, the first digit is one bigger than 4 and the first and third digit are odd

TylerM.-Miss Young said...

First I made three spaces on a piece of paper. After that I listed all the odd numbers for the first and third digit. Then i listed all the combos that the last two digits can have: 2&1-4&1-6&1-8&1-2&3-4&3-6&3-2&5-4&5-2&7. Then, finally, i used guess and check until i found 541 as my answer.

So the answer to the problem is 541.

I came up with 541because it said it is a three digit number so i thought of 500 after that it said that the last 2 digits of the number equals the first digit so I thought of 541and after that it said the first digit is 1 more than the second digit so just like 541 the 5 is one more than the 4 and than last it said all added together is 10 so 5 + 4 + 1 = 10 so my answer is 541
